The Darker Side of The Stray Dogs

They are everywhere, specially in Bombay well, from the spooky lanes at four a.m to the main road in the afternoon, I am not really a big fan of dogs anyway, but stray dogs are a menace, yeah I may sound 'mean and insensitive and like a heartless monster' but if you do love those strays so much, why don't you buy a huge farm for them and breed them or something?

Stray dogs, not only bark when you drive fast they try to bite you, they piss on the tire of your car, even if its a BMW, and if you are on a bike or something they might actually end up biting you, I am not scared of the dog biting me, I am scared of the injections which one gets later. There are no dog pounds and nobody really wants those dogs, so what do you do? You poison them or something, but do they do that? No, they do not. I suggest putting them in a dog pound though.

My friend got bit my a stray dog once during the late midnight hours, and all he did was just walk by the dog. Its high time to take some action against them seriously, I mean you cannot possibly take the dogs to the court of law, where justice is given to 'like everybody' -_-.

The Supreme Court however is acting weird, if you can put people in prison for murdering why don't you put stray dogs in a dog pound for attempt-to-murder? Sure dogs are 'cute and cuddly' but have you anywhere in any developed nation seen a dog pissing on a lamppost without a collar? Its ridiculous on the supreme court's part to let people die of rabies, why don't we just let a serial killer loose too? I mean heck isn't it time to grow up and let people live instead of dogs? Because seriously, the dogs are not gonna pay any taxation like 'we' do.

1, 2, 3 And Sold to TATA!

Tata Motors (TATAMOTORS) for an estimated 2.3 billion dollars, has acquired the Jaguar and Land Rover brands from the automobile giant Ford.

Now the good part about it is, that an Indian company will own some very sophisticated brands in the automobile industry, so all the people who jump around whenever someone says anything good about India, should be jumping around now -_-.

Now obviously, I was not going to post about the 'positive side' of the story, so here is the bad part, A) TATA is a bad name for a company, how in the world can anyone call a company Tata? It's like calling a brand Bhagchandani -_-, sure Ratan Tata is the only 'classy' business left and the only businessman with a vision, but dude, why the hell would one name a company after their surname? Doesn't TATA mean Bye? TA-TA? :| Imagine a British man walking in the Jaguar showroom, and looking around at a particular Jaguar model, sure he sees the Jaguar logo but he sees a "T" above it, even though Mr.Tata has said that they will retain the brand images, and continue building the brand image. B) Nobody in the world would trust a car made by an Indian company, it is a hard to digest fact, but heck it is a fact. I mean if you buy Honda why would you by Tata at the same price? And I sure as hell know that they won't cut down prices of cars. Hell, even I would buy a Japanese brand car instead of an Indian brand one. C) How many Jaguars do you think Tata can sell in India? Yes, it has 200 other countries to sell, but seriously people here aren't gonna go around buying a car which is more expensive and less herd of (Remember the common man doesn't even know what Apple is, and he thinks that all mp3 players are iPod's, so he won't really think he is buying a Jaguar, he will think he is buying a TATA, so he will go buy Indica or something -_-)

However, the Tatamotors stock on BSE didn't really do so well the next day, the high it made was at 689.00 It actually went down :| That could also be because of the bad markets and also because people don't want Tata to make Jaguars and Land Rovers now, seriously whats next? A local American teenager calculating 43 X 52 without a calculator?

Let's blame it on THEM

I was reading my Economics textbook and I came across a sub heading called 'Economic Drain', it stated and I quote "Deliberate transfer of India's wealth and resources to England by the British government of India with out an quid pro quo between 1757 and 1947 left India a poor country."

Er, so you are blaming the Britishers because your country is poor? Woah, I mean yes they 'ruled' us and 'humiliated' us, but don't these guys realize the positive aspects of them ruling over a very religious country? Remember Sati? Sati happened to be a ceremony wherein the widow would burn herself alive when her husband died. Those 'rulers' abolished that, can you imagine the sex ratio if that was still legal? And then comes Dowry (Meena zindabad/Hail Meena)/Dhaej, where the parents/guardians give money (not necessary in cash) to get the guy ready for marriage, however that practice is not yet totally abolished but the situation is much better now, I think.

So yes the Britishers took our money and then we faced the Economic Crisis of 1991 where the government didn't even have the money to import stuff for two weeks (says the government) so the RBI had to mortgage the gold reserves, BUT lets not blame it on our government/the finance minister/the stupid economic policies which didn't let private companies 'in', lets just blame it on the people who left 'ruling' this country over forty years ago (in 1991 i.e). It's like a girl dumped you and she got married and she has kids and is now dead, but you are yet unmarried and blame her for fucking up your life.

I am not saying that the Britishers should come back and rule us again, but I am saying that the Indian mentality sucks, I mean heck we all suffer from these digging up old stories and blaming other people for our faults syndrome. Getting over is not hard, but you need to try, this is not what you should be teaching people who don't even know what the truth is, you can't publish that shit in a textbook man. Its like publishing the existence of man according to the Bible and not according to Darwin in a science textbook.

So yes, moving on, there is no bread in my house, those fucking Britishers! (Just making my point -_-)

PS - According to the same textbook the government is a body which does not endorse/force/believe in any religion, so that means the Indian government follows atheism? :|

Its been around five-six months since the blog came into existence. Below, are some of the details of/about the blog.

4000+ hits from October 2007. [Yeah, I know, quite less -_-]
400+ returning visitors.
Most of the people reading my blog are Indians. [I LOVE INDIA! Woohoo -_-]

The Transformation :

From the insignificant rants to posting about politics, religion and economics, this blog admittedly has changed, maybe for the good. From ranting about my hair to ranting about how government needs to get its act together. From just one author to now, three authors, three different types of authors, Shailja who posts more about the things which she witnesses around her and other mature/teenage topics , Sumit who hasn't posted anything yet -_-, and me, "who suddenly became punk" - School friend.

Future Plans for the blog :

I already have registerd the domain name on Wordpress, most probably this blog will be shifted there, by April. And when I say shifted, I don't think I am gonna post all the 80+ posts there.

Holi: The Festival of just Colors?

Holi. The festival of colors is almost here. Don't worry I won't blabber about how the festival originated etc like a 5th grader. This post is more about the other ways in which Holi is celebrated. I'm sure everyone has heard of Raves.

But in India too? Yes you bet in India too. India as it is has quite a history in mind alterations. Lord Shiva is THE God for the 'high' population as he was the only God who always remained stoned. So the tradition continues. A couple of raves happen every year. They are extremely hard to organize but they do happen. The other name for rave is Outdoor. This year's rave is in forests, in Sohna, which is about 50kms from Gurgaon. Gurgaon, is one of the most developed areas of the NCR with offices of the largest companies, factories & BPOs. Its not in Sohna but on the highway. These parties are extremely well organized & the guest list consists of the richest elite people & you'll usually see most of your dream cars in the parking of these raves. The invitee receives a Map, guiding him to the rave. The map is more like a treasure map, like 9.2kms from this exact point you take a right turn etc. Acquaintances tell me that last year, it took a good part of 3 hours to reach the venue. In the party, there are usually massive speakers all over the place, live psychedelic trance & bright psychedelic colors. You find yourself dancing with the most addicted persons with dreadlocks, the weirdest clothes & a horde of rudraksh. The decorations consist of posters of 'om' or lord shiva & for snacks there is chips, chowmein & eggs, & refreshments include only and only hard drinks & of course the hottest guys/girls with the most intense vibes ever. Vibes by the way, are not superficial, you will feel something different in the air around these people. They are spiritually super charged. The drugs at the raves begin from Hash Super creme, mushrooms, extacy to LSD. You ofcourse have to pay for it. You see people with chillums to people licking of a drop of LSD off someone's palm. Don't freak out its normal rave routine. You'll see girls & guys swaying to the music all by themselves, people meditating in the middle of the dance floor, a lot of drugs & even drink spiking. Well, spiking may seem wrong but it is natural in a rave. Rapes are rare though. The only positive point. A rave normally lasts for 12 hours+. Slowly people in their hungover state, drive out & find their way home. Sometimes a rave gets busted, it usually gets announced a couple of hours in advance but people are too high to care & end up getting caught. Getting caught does not mean your life is over, it means you'll or your parents will just be left with a lot less balance in your/their bank account. The police is always interested in the raves because of the elite rich crowd which attends it. Business men, Government representatives even film stars attend these raves. Even the actress Kim Sharma was seen in one of the Delhi raves once, my source of information, Kim's niece who is a good friend & a lifetime addict herself. Neha Dhupia, & other models are among the other names. Its not like the authorities don't know about it, usually the organizers prefer to be on the safe side by bribing the police in advance but when they don't, the rave gets busted & all the rich people pay. None of the raves have been publicized because none of them have been reported. The rave in Ramgarh, in Rajasthan had policemen enjoying the rave with the crowd. Pushkar, in Rajasthan is a regular spot for raves. The police take the bribe & forget about it. The raves have been going on in Delhi for decades now. Even foreigners, Israelis, Russians, Afghanis etc fly in to attend it. This is the current drug scene of the capital of the country. Don't you just hate the system?

India according to the textbook.

Says the text book, but just let's not take it's word for it. Lets 'explore' this.

Democracy? People getting jailed for making 'Anti' communities on Orkut, forcing cybercafe's to ban particular sites? That reminds me of China, and trust me China is not a democratic country. Sure you could argue about hurting peoples sentiments and whatnots, but doesn't democracy include freedom of speech?

A republic nation? "A republic is a state or country that is not led by a hereditary monarch,where the people of that state or country (or at least a part of that people)have impact on its government, and that is usually indicated as a republic." The only people having an actual impact on the government are even educated and don't have a voters license, I think I have said it before, but thats what the government wants, it doesn't want schools/colleges.

A secular state? ^"A secular state is a state or country that is officially neutral in matters of religion, neither supporting nor opposing any particular religious beliefs or practices" Erm, remember what this country is called? Its called Hindustan, break it up -.-, India is surely secular, but not in every sense of the word. People in India and even the government doesn't really care about the minorities and there are riots and shit happening every year, its like one of the festivals. However, people don't go around forcing other people to convert to some other religion, YET.

A Sovereign nation? WHOWHATWHENWHERE? /quote Queen

And India is NOT a socialist state. Sure there are taxes collected but aren't the rich still getting richer and the poor-poorer? India is more of a capitalist state, even though the textbook doesn't say that. :|

The Stock Markets

A stock market can be defined as a public or private for trading of company stock and derivatives of a company stock, at an agreed price.
What does that mean? Basically a stock market, is a market where you deal in stocks of public or private companies, quite simple to understand.

The two main stock exchanges in India are BSE, [Bombay Stock Exchange (No clue why they haven't changed it to Mumbai Stock Exchange)] which is also known as the SENSEX, and we have NSE (National Stock Exchange) also known as NIFTY. Both these stock exchanges work parallel and quite in a simple way, for example I want to buy say, 100 shares of Reliance Power, I quote a rate which is mostly close to the current rate of the company, now I choose where I want to buy them, I can either get them on BSE or NSE, or both actually, so I buy it on BSE, and later the same day, the stock prices have increased, by 3%, BUT the rate on NSE is more then on BSE, that really doesn't make a difference, I can sell it on NSE. However, I suppose you have to pay something to trade in NSE to your broker.

The broker is the MOST important person in is transaction of yours. You can't just buy/sell shares directly from the stock exchanges, you have to buy/sell them through a broker who charges you a certain amount of money called as brokerage. The brokerage depends on the individual or the company. The less the brokerage, the more your profit on a particular transaction.

Now, each country has a stock market (as far as I know/think), America has NYSE, NASDAQ and DOW JONES, Singapore has SSE, France ha MATIF, The UK has The London Stock Exchange, Japan has the TIFFE, and South Africa has the SAFEX.

Most of the markets these days are volatile and down due the soon happening American Recession.

However, thats not always the case, yes if you are investing in the Futures market (Where you predict that the prices of a particular stock before it actually reaches that price) you might end up loosing alot of money and yes that is gambling, but having a small investment in the Stock Market is not a bad thing, it shouldn't however, be the only place where you depend on, for money, well thats my view on it.

Just another rape case

Yes, so yesterday was women's day, and most of the people that includes men were celebrating it, yeah well. But this post isn't about how I hate celebrations without any bank holiday, this post is about the recent alleged murder/rape case of a UK citizen who happened to be in Goa, India. Now I am not saying its wrong to get publicity. But the only reason that 15 year old girl is getting so much publicity because she was from UK and she was a UK citizen.

Don't get me wrong, she was allegedly rapped and then murdered, but this happens to over a hundreds of girls in India, in a day. The only difference is that those people will never get justice, because most of their families sold their kids for money, while others are so poor that they cannot give any commission to the police officers. So their story is never mentioned by the media. Leave alone the media, they are not even allowed in police stations.

Every month the media reports 'ONE RAPE CASE' and the next week/month everything disappears. Remember the 'exclusive coverage' of the new year eve rape case? Does the media even know whats going on in that case? or is the case EVEN going anywhere?

The media is more biased then me, if they do cover a common rape, they will put a 'XYZ EXPOSE' now, I didn't mean to post another rant about the media, but well I guess I can partly blame them, if you are covering a minor UK citizen, you can sure as hell cover minor Indian girls who were victims of rape.

So yes basically, I don't hate the media, I just hate the way it functions.

The American Recession

So, many people have herd about the America going through/to a recession by the next year, why is it happening?

Well most of the people don't even know the meaning of recession, recession in a layman language means "A country (in this case) wherein buyers resist to buy, and where the sellers are keen to sell." So the whole balanced equation gets affected and supply becomes more then the demand.

It's happening due to various reasons, banks like Citi Bank have failed, because the system there is well, weird, for example you buy an asset (property) and you have seventy five thousand dollars in your bank account, the bank will provide the other money, say a million dollars, (they are rich, remember plus the love their local people out there), then another bank approaches the person and gives him a loan to repay back the other bank, but what happens here is, the bank which comes in later doesn't get its money and it suffers huge bad debts.

The FM of India, thinks that the American recession won't really affect anything in India, he is wrong (obviously) after the budget and the slowdown in the American Stock Market (NASDAQ and DOW JONES) the Indian economy is moving towards the slow down too, there is no liquidity, the stock markets are crashing, (900 points a day :|) The people who invest in the 'Futures' market are well suffering huge losses, even the common investor is suffering losses, period. And its not just India that is suffering because of well, the superpower <_<, there will be a global recession if there happens to be a recession in America, and they know it. According to my dad when there was a recession before in America it lasted for SEVEN years, which is HUGE, economy slows down, there is a decline in the GDP, 21% of the global economy depends on the USA, if there is a recession there, there won't be imports, because of the less demand there.
Dropping U.S. stock prices drag down markets elsewhere, which has already happening and its not stopping.

So, hopefully we survive this, and see the GDP growth back in two digits in India ^.^

Cigarettes.

So i don't really have anything to write about since i never can think of anything to write about.
The other day i got home & Dad was um, discussing my smoking habits with my Satanic Aunt. She was basically telling him about it and dad was flipping out. So i got a tiny lecture about how Dad won't tolerate smoking in the house etc. So thought about writing about the cigarette. That 85mm long, tobacco wrapped in smoking sheet can be so damn relieving those who're addicted. Only those who are hooked to it would understand. But the point of this post is that those addicts are mostly adolescents who are not legally allowed to smoke, or drink for that matter. But in our capital city, the seller, the roadside pan-wala as well as the consumer (11year olds to 17-19year olds) , are usually illegal. The shopkeeper holds no license to sell cigarettes and pan etc on the roadside and pays the local beat policemen to keep their illegal activities flourishing. The policeman is happy with the mediocre weekly/monthly bribe while the pan wala sells cigarettes of all brands, the international ones are usually fake made in india copies, to everyone without even bothering to ask their age forget reporting them. These pan walas can be found everywhere and every commercial complex will have atleast 2 or at times even more than 2 'chaurasia pan centre' or the other more common brand among the young the 'prince pan centre or ppc' as most call it. These pan centres sell anything that can be sold to anyone who'll buy. Upon asking in private these pan walas are also highly helpful sources for finding the nearest weed/hash peddlers. PPC is even known for the variety of sheesha available for sale to everyone & one of the bigger branches of PPC is right outside the well known Delhi Public School , R.K. Puram, The top school of India. Students usually walk to ppc after school or in the morning or actually at all times to have a smoke. Every college in South and North Campus has a variety of pan walas right outside the gates & in many places such as the PVR priya complex or the PVR Saket complex etc one is never surprised to see minors smoking & if you go to the bars Lounges & the random clubs too you would see more teens than adults even though the sign on the gate said under 25 not allowed. The government takes no action against this because as Jay told me, the government receives high revenue from cigarettes, which is obvious because no one even cares to demand a receipt after buying a pack of smokes right? and teens constitute a major part of the population so the more the consumption the more revenue or something like that right? Im sure Jay can explain the economic aspect more clearly. My point is, almost 15 out of 20 people i know are smokers. I am one myself, & it bothers me to be one too.
The goverment has come up with a suggestion to have pictorial warning on the cigarette boxes. It would be something like a picture of lungs ailing with cancer on the box. It has worked in some countries but i personally think it'll take a lot more than a ghastly picture to scare us teens who usually get beyond excited to spot a not so pleasant marilyn manson video on vh1. Since we are young and mindless, & we sometimes make the wrong decisions too right [ :D ] the government should be blamed for this too. So may the government think of the young public, for once too. Amen!

College and the HATRED

I hate my college, period, below there are a total of four incidents which made me loathe college.
Sorry, I couldn't come up with anything intelligent to post :|

Incident one >

We had oral exams in our college, and we had to choose our topics for a 'speech'. One of my friends selected friendship, heres is a part of what he said, " Friend are very important in our lives, we cannot live without them, everybody in this room is my friend, my 'papa' used to say friendship is like a that ship uhm, Tit-tanic, it will drown someday if we do not maintain it. I have best friend and worst friend, I have friend on Orkut also, Orkut is very nice, it has good people in it, many people are my friend there. I have two best friend in my whole life, my papa and my mama, they are very nice to me, they care for me, I think thats what every friend should do for me. Friend indeed is friend deed. My papa says he will be my best friend forever."

Incident two >

On the first day of college, there was this guy wearing a Sex Pistols teeshirt, and I thought this guy might not be like other people and he might be cool, I was wrong, well yeah.
Me : Like the college, dude?
KOOL DUDE : It rocks ASS!
Me : Okay, you like Sex pistols, eh?
KOOL DUDE : CONDOMS ROCK!
Me : Yeah, I am sure they do.
KOOL DUDE : FLAVORED CONDOMS ARE BETTER!
Me : Yeah totally, are you high?
KOOL DUDE: No, I am Ankit

Incident three >

During the rainy days, I met a group of guys, who were the most coolest guys out there, they used to come on bikes, they used to wear glares and raincoats on bikes and used to wear a watch which was as big as a grandfather clock. I later realized that they were the hip-hop dudes, and that 'rock' sucked ASS and hip-hop was GAWD of music, Michael Jackson was dissed and Kanye West was hailed. Iron Maiden was never herd of, and Metallica was classified as the devil's music. Girlfriends of each others were 'hawt and kick ASS', 100 bucks was more then enough for eating cheap road stuff Chinese, and smoking was a taboo.

Incident four >

The only guy in college who knows a little bit about 'real music' was standing with me, near the canteen, this girl happened to walk by with her fake Louie Vuitton purse and her iPod shuffle in one of her hands to show off, she was wearing the same thing what a stripper would wear.
Friend : She is HAWT!
Me : Yeah, sure, wth go ask her out.
Friend : Look at her man, she is so SO, FUCK SHE IS SO HAWT!!
Me : She applies makeup bey.
Friend : Yeah, isn't that hawt?
Me : *Pointing at the KISS teeshirt I was wearing* DO YOU FIND THIS HAWT?
Friend : Is that a girl?
Me : It's a guy :@
Friend : I would have a crush on her if he was a guy.

Dad : How was the Budget?

Me : It was just, kinda weird, good pre-election budget.

Dad : Did his lungi come off during his stupid speech?

Me : I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing, but no it didn't come off.

Dad : All he does is run after votes anyway, the 60 thousand crore wave off the farmers should have been done four years ago.

Me : Atleast he did, see India has been growing since the past four years at a tremendous pace.
Dad: You don't KNOW that, I saw your post about the media, its the same thing.

Dad : US is going to have a recession, our economy will be affected by it.

Me : I don't think so, and nor does the FM. I mean at the end of the day, India doesn't totally depend on the US.

Dad : Sure -_-

Me : Look, I know you hate him and you think he should stick to selling coconuts, but you have to agree that India is growing.

Dad : Where is the growing? Have you seen our infrastructure?

Me : I have, but we cannot keep blaming the government for everything.

Dad : No, but we can blame the government for things like these, infrastructure cannot be imported, it has to be made, you cannot give 75 crore rupees to the tigers and not care about the humans.

Me : Are you talking about Bombay or of India?

Dad : I am talking about BOMBAY, the reason why the government is so rich right now.

Me : Eh?

Dad : 70 paise of each rupee which is collected from income tax by the government comes from Bombay, but have you seen 70% change in Bombay?

Me : Uhm, no.

Dad : Exactly, the center has never really given Bombay the due respect that its worth of, if this keeps happening a civil war will take place, and Maharashtra as a whole state will be out of India with Gujarat, after that India is over. These two are the only states which are making India 'SHINE'.

Me : What an imagination, if that happens, every country will be divided. 'people' did not even allow the central government to make Bombay a union territory.

Dad : They shouldn't.

Me : What side are you on?

Dad : The side which will develop Bombay and make the slums disappear.
Me : Thats not gonna happen :|

Dad : These superstars make sure of that.

Me : Erm?

Dad : They start protests and shit, if you love the slum dwellers so much, why don't you take them to your house and let them share your room with you?

Me : Because its their house, and I don't think like people who might be infected with something there.

Dad : Exactly, and that is government property, the government didn't promise them housing, did they? neither did they invite them to Bombay, why the hell are they here? And even if the government provides them with flats they sell that off and come back and live in the slums.
Me : But they don't have money.

Dad : Most of these people are from Bihar, and I have to agree with the Thackeray's here, Bombay is overpopulated and its exploding, you can't keep sending people here, however the way he said it was wrong.

Me : So you agree with them?

Dad : Kinda, yeah. I think Amar Singh is a bigger bastard then anyone else anyway :|
Me : But why target just the people of UP and Bihar?

Dad : Because they make up 99% of the slum dwellers, I don't say that Bombay should only be home for Marathi's. What I am saying is there should be a cut of rate, if you have an address proof you will be given a card which proves that, after a month of issuing the card, the police or any other body can check the card on the roads or any where else.

Me : What if I forget my card on a particular day?

Dad : There will be a 'chalan' issued, and you have to show the card within say 3 days. See, I don't say this is fullproof, but people can surely work on it.

Me : Alright I agree, but don't you think its unfair for them?

Dad : I am inviting 20 people to stay over in your room, who will it be unfair for?

Me : Me? :|

Dad : Exactly. So my question still standing, what has the government done for Bombay? Expect for the huge flyovers?

Me : I bet they get money, but the state government pockets it.

Dad : You remember 26/7 right? The PM promised some one thousand crore for the relief of the victims, WHERE THE HELL IS IT?

Me : Erm, I don't know :S

Cousin : AAAAAAAA, Budget.

Dad : How are the banking shares up?

Me : I think thats due to the 60 thousand crore loan write off.

Dad : What are the conditions?

Me : Two hectare or less land, loans taken from non-private bodies.

Dad : Obviously.

Cousin : Deepak Parekh said "For banks, this is extremely positive because the valuations of banks will go up. They will write-off the loans and get reimbursement from the government. Most of these amounts are lying in provision for doubtful debts and the provisions will disappear. So, its very positive for the banking sector." (this - The write off)

Dad : WHY the hell does he care? and why does he bother saying that? His bank doesn't give a loan to any farmer.

Me : What the? After this statement the stock markets has the support of the banking sector suddenly.

Dad : HDFC ke baap ko jaakar puucho ki kabhi koi farmer ko loan diya hain? (Go ask his bank's father that has he ever given a loan to any father?" The co-operative banks and state banks give loans to them, not private banks.

Cousin : Shit, yeah :|

Dad : Ridiculous, these people are thugs, and India is filled with them..

Me : Still we say "Mera bharat mahan" (India is great)

Cousin : May God bless, India and its citizens.

The First Post

This isn't the first post by me though, but it is the first one in Jay's blog so yeah.
So it started by me noticing Jay's status on facebook which said "Jayesh is waiting for the budget." Now that's intriguing to many. Isn't it? So we got into a long discussion about the budget and i was informed that the budget has been proposed and it is not really in favor of us, common urban people. And then i proposed the idea of two budgets. Yes. Two Budgets. One for rural areas and the other for urban. You might scream Equality but if you look at it from another view, it is fair. An urban guy needs alot of different things. He earns more, the lifestyle is different the demands are different. The rural population, mainly cultivates land. So their budget should grant them irrigation facilities, low tax rates, latest agriculture based technology etc to increase their produce which in turn would generate a healthy market with minimal rates and the urban population will be happy too.
There are alot of points,which are too many to write in the very first post. But according to Jay 2 budget theory is outrageous and impossible. And i agree with him.

So latest is the theory of No Government.
This basically means that one political year, not a single citizen votes in the general elections.
This will shock the parties and the world overall. Bound to be revolutionary! The current government owns you and exploits everyone. Our government is cliched and is a routine now. Nothing new ever happens. The rich keep getting richer the poor-poorer. The crime rates keep coming back. Blueline drivers always get away, the police can always be bribed and so on. After this movement the citizens can demand a younger, educated government and can even abolish corruption! This idea is only an idea though.Random thoughts. Not to forget it is quite an impossible task but can happen.

I'll wind this up here cause i'm highly distracted by music and feel like singing now.

Mass Media - Now covering Metrosexuals

The media is becoming stupider by the day, non-serious headlines, chest shaved men on the front page, murder stories and other stuff on the second page, destructive reports being continually shown, and its not just the Indian media, I am talking about the global media, and yeah they do give me information I need, SOMETIMES, but most of the mainstream newspapers are talking about how Salman Khan and Shoaib Akhtar running without their shirts on bandstand. I don't want to know about that! I want to know about how many people were injured in a slab fall in Bombay, which was on the 8th page.

If I wanted entertainment news I would buy the entertainment paper or switch to an entertainment news channel, a serious news channel/newspaper shouldn't be reporting this, and in their defense they say "People want to read/see this", I don't think people really do want to see a gorilla getting married to plastic (The Big Bachan Wedding) I don't think they want to see a gorilla's haircut or catfights, or dogfights. I think, people, most of them want to know whats really going on, I remember somebody comparing religion to MTV, I compare both of them to the present day media because all three of them blindfold people in every possible way they can. People trust the media, obviously like religious groups the media takes advantage of that.

When the printing press was invented it was considered as a taboo, and now it should be considered as one, they have wrongly used 'free press/speech', they diss about a politician and spend use spy cameras to 'reveal their inner minds' because they want to sell their newspapers or want people to watch their channel, or 'other competitors' pay them for that.

I mean look at it from a practical point of view, printing a newspaper costs around 10 bucks, they sell you that for 2 bucks, where do they earn the money from? Advertisement's, the higher the subscriptions rate of a newspaper the higher prices it will get for advertisements. So how will the paper sell? By making up fake scandals or using spy cams to prove their point. I'm not saying that all the scandals are false or they shouldn't use spy cams, what I am trying to say is the media should get real before things get really messy. The media has become a profit making business just like hospitals.

Seriously, Times of India has as much information about fashion as Vogue does, and guess what? Times costs just four bucks xD

O Dustbins, Where art thou?

If you live or have visited Bombay, or Mumbai as we call it now, you must've seen those green colored boxes all around the city. Those boxes are dustbins, which don't exist anymore, I mean yeah the stands are still there, but there is not a bin, I was passing by carter road aka the make out hub of Bombay, and I saw a row of dustbins which didn't exist, all I could see was the green top and the black rod. Where are the dustbins? Sadly I don't know, most of them get stolen by people who then later sell it for what I think would be a small amount, some of them were well, never installed by the BMC (Bombay Municipal Corporation) You know, the same people who played a important role in causing the floods in Bombay.

Anyway yeah, so wherever there are dustbins which still exist, there is so much garbage in it that you can't even put a piece of paper in it, and there are flies and other kinds of insects all around, I asked the person who owns a shop near the dustbin and he told me that the BMC employees don't clean it, unless you give them some money and I asked him if he gave any money, and he questioned me saying am I from any known journalist.

So this time, I cannot blame any government body, I can only blame the people who do such a act, though I do admit that they have their reasons, but still I am not gonna walk a mile to throw my chewing gum wrapper, I am going to throw it on the road and let any animal eat it because I am an Indian, and I don't care about things which don't matter to me. Was that generalization? Yeah it was.

Today, I was going from my cousins place to my college, and I was in an auto, the driver tried to make small talk, here's the conversation

Driver : Aaj yaha bhaut rush hain (There's just too much of traffic today)

Me : Uhm, haan, aaj lagta hain Masjid mein kuch tha (Uhm, yeah, it seems as though there was something going on in the Masjid)

Driver : Bhenchod puri desh ki maabhen kar di hain inno ne (Fuckers, have fucked up the whole country)

Me : Kyun, aisa kya kiya un hone? (What exactly have they done?)

Driver : Ab, aap hi dekho, din ke beech mein Namaaz padhna, bhenchod kya naatak hain (Look, they read Namaz in the middle of the day)

Me : Er, haan toh? (Er, yeah and/so?)

Driver : Hindu logon ko dekhlo, ek baar pooja karte hain aur phir Bhagwaan ka naam bhi nahi lete, bhenchod dusro ka kaam todhi bigaar te hain (Look at the people who are Hindus, they do 'pooja' in the morning and don't disturb other people)

Me : Tu kabhi Sidhivinayak nahi gaya hain? (Haven't you ever been to Sidhivinayak?)

Driver : Woh, toh... Aap kaunse dharam ko maante ho? (Erm.. which religion do you follow?)

Me : Main toh Muslmaan hu (I'm a muslim)

Driver : *gulps*

PS - I'm not against any religion, I just wanted to tell people whats going on. The video is unclear and some parts of the conversation aren't recorded

This Sucks, seriously

No, I don't know what Mithya means, what I know is, the movie was shit. And I am not gonna rant about how the movie sucked, or how the movie had no story, this has been time and again on this blog.
I am gonna rant about how the critics are misleading the Indian audiences. CNN IBN rated the movie as 4 stars on 5, and TOI rated it 3.5/5, which means that HELL YES GO WATCH THIS MOVIE. So as a good reader, and a believer in our critics. I went for the movie, paid 300 bucks for one ticket, and with me was one of my cousins, so in total 600 bucks. The movie sucked, it had already started and the person on the ticket counter lied and said that there is still time for the movie to begin. And you know you sit down, and watch the movie, waiting for it to make you WOW, but that didn't happen this time, till the very end I was thinking about the movie going from stupid to in-stupid. I was disappointed, and I don't blame the director for making a shitty movie, I blame the critics to incorrectly say that the movie kicks ass, and make me waste my money.
The critics job was to tell me that the movie sucked, just like what they did with Jodha Akbar, even though people say Jodha Akbar isn't all that bad. Now I don't believe the critics, Indian critics i.e. I think they are a bunch of people who are getting paid to give ratings to movies, and I think its about time, people realize that. And no, I am not dissing the critics, I am just stating my view point on them and their ratings. Personally Mityha was not even worth one star.

Thriller 25

Yes, the most controversial pop artist of all time is back, (No, not Britney), with a brand new anniversary of the album which was and remains to be the biggest seller in the world. People are still buying the original Thriller, it was a great album, it was the first album wherein all the songs were on the billboard charts, and there were around three music videos from that album, including Billy Jean, Thriller and Beat It.

Much has been written about the work Jackson did on this Thriller 25 with will.i.am, Kanye West, Fergie and Akon. Bringing those contemporary hitmakers into the process will no doubt boost appeal to listeners who are younger than the original album.

The opening chords of "Wanna Be Startin' Something," with the afro-funk beat and Jackson's pure, clear vocals still send a bit of a chill through the listener as do the classics "Billie Jean," and of course "Thriller," which spawned the much-heralded video.will.i.am kept the original essence of "P.Y.T." in the updated version, adding vocals and rhythms that make it perfect for the clubs. Yet “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” with Akon is somewhat disconcerting. Although Jackson’s original vocals and beat are prominent, it’s clear Akon is straining to put his stamp on the song, shifting parts into something of a ballad/funk mix. Fergie's vocals on "Beat It" are heartfelt but feel just a bit out of sync with the song; melding Jackson's vocals with hers makes for an interesting listen.
Those, though, are truly minor points. Thriller 25 reminds us that despite the scandals, Jackson created a masterpiece and forged a new musical frontier that paved the way for Usher, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and many others.
Thriller 25 includes a DVD with “Thriller” short films, Jackson's Emmy-nominated performance of "Billie Jean" during the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever TV special and more.

All in all, an interesting listen, and satisfying to the people who were bored of listening to the same songs over and over again. Let's just give it a 4.6/5 :D

Global Warming

Here's an explanation of Global warming by our Environmental Education teacher.

"Global warming means the whole universe is warm-ing. It means that there is less of oxygen in the whole of the universe and it is caused by Indians, because we have democracy, and thus the Government can't really force us to do something about the warming of the universe, there should be communism!. However, we should blame ourselves for global warming and not the nature, because nature is a gift by 'God'.
However, we as humans don't respect His gift, and we have been spoiling it since the past 100 years, and now we are laughing, outside the world is degrading and we are laughing!
We as humans should help animals and not make them 'evaporate' (He meant Extinct), we should stop using refrigerators! as they emit CFC'S. If you use a fridge for 24 hours, YOU are a bad citizen! You should feel guilty and help the poor and not help to make hot climates.
There should be a law, a law which states that for each child you 'MAKE' you will have to plant five plants or else you won't be allowed to plant, sorry make children"

Me : So you're saying the government will make, in your words 'making children' illegal, unless the parents plant 5 plants for each child?
Him : *After two minutes* Yes!
Me : What an idea, sir.

His final punch line : "Global warming is a fault, its a mistake lets contribute to that mistake!"

The TV is back!

It started off, gained support and now it may just be over, I am talking about the strike which really 'struck', the WGA Strike, yup. According to the Nikki Finke, the strike is essentially over, and the writers have got the green signal and they may just pick up their pens and start their work from Wednesday.
However, its not necessary that all shows return back for this season, some shows like 24 will start production as soon as the strike ends, but they're gonna end up being aired in 2009 on Fox, nothing has been said about the quite popular Heroes. House will undoubtedly return but no details as to when. Sitcoms like Chuck, isn't likely to return this season. The Office, Grey's Anatomy and well Scrubs (hopefully), will be aired in April/May. Here's a full list of the shows which are gonna be back within the next few months.
So, well this is good news, even though it seems kinda like bad news, atleast people will have something to watch or in my case download. Some of the great shows I watched during this strike were Chuck, and 30 Rock, I found Chuck quite good and interesting, and I didn't really 'connect' with 30 Rock. I also watched all the episodes of The Big Bang Theory, which is gonna return in the spring with a new season, most probably. So yes, it wasn't all that bad for me, but it was quite bad for both the broadcasting companies and the writers.

Dr.Horror formely known as Dr. Amit Kumar, says that he is innocent, obviously well if the governments have the right to defend things like the Iraq war, the trial of Saddam Hussian, so why can't he defend his actions of stealing around a million kidneys from people and being the master mind in a racket which was worth, well alot. Anyway this guy if brought anywhere near the public, might just get gang raped and eaten by people, and he was caught in Nepal, a place where you find people who look like people from China, obviously this could be explained by the genetic specialists, but let's just cut the crap and get to the point, obviously Chinese and Indian people banged each other out there.

Speaking of China, China says that Arunachal Pradesh, belongs to them, the controversy was started when the C Minister of AP wanted to visit China, and applied for China, and got a response for them saying "You're already on Chinese territory.", and now during their whole week of celebration of the Rat year, they got angry when the Indian Prime Minister visited AP, why? because it's their land! Well according to them, I mean, you know. Back in 1962, China had attacked India, and tried to get a hold of the same state. I don't really know if they succeed or not, I live in Maharashtra, they teach me only about the cities and villages of Maharashtra, and not some state being handed over to China, when they won some war.

Raj Thackeray, who thinks thinks well he is the next Hitler, in an open letter to one of the newspapers justified his actions, and said that he is just being nice to the people and trying to make people realize whats wrong for them, and trying to make and I quote "Mumbai and Maharashtra proud", in response to that Bal Thackeray says that Raj is playing childish politics and there is only one party for the 'Aam Manoos' (Common Man) and that is Shiv Sena.

Google, in other news says that Microsoft isn't playing fair, and that Google would call it's mommy, Well yeah, according to Google, what Microsoft is trying to do is wipe out the competition, and thus try to take on Google, which would be unfair, so Google is sad, However Ball-maar has said that the Yahoo! would be continue running, so mostly MSN will be scrapped, or Windows Live!, or whatever the search engine is now called, which still nobody uses.

Sania Mirza, who is supposedly hot and 21, and single, and Asia's best tennis player, is not gonna play in India, ever again, people got angry and burnt stuff, the usual shit.

Super (Boring) Tuesday

Yes, The race for the American president is on, yes the president is still gonna try and find Osama Bin Laden, yes he/she is still gonna try to start wars, for oil or maybe even because they love to supply arms and ammunition to third world countries, where people are just waiting for an excuse to chop each others heads off.

However, Hillary Clinton, or Senator Hillary Clinton in a speech, recently said that things would be different, wait, didn't Bush say that too? And boy, did it happen, America went from a quite normal country to a country who nearly strip the Muslim people who try to enter their country, I am not anti-American, I am just Anti-Bushism, and frankly I don't really get the connection here, why are people obsessing over this election? I mean, its fair if the Americans do it, but I don't think that Indian's would really be affected by this election, heck its the primary election, and still, you see ALL the news channels having their sister companies or their correspondences up there and giving 'us' 'live updates' for something which really shouldn't matter to anyone, outside America, of course.

These guys cover the American primary presidential elections better then any election which happens in India, and well yeah, most of you people have already herd about three names, who are 'in' the elections, Obama, Hillary and McCain. and yes, Hillary is 'ahead', have you herd about the other people, who are in the election too? Answer - No. Not because you live in India, most of the American's don't know the other candidates either, because to show their campaign footage on a News channel, those guys actually paid money to them, its like an advertisement, a very convincing advertisement, I mean the news channels did make it clear that it was a kinda advertisement, but what the heck? People don't really read the fine print, or read the credits. But in India, there was no such disclaimer anywhere in the news reports saying that "We are showing you this footage because those people who might end up wining are paying us, loads of money"

Another Hitler in the making

This has been in the news since the past three days or so, Raj Thackeray, leader of the Maharashtra Nav Nirman Party (who happens to be the estranged nephew of Bal Thackeray), is well, a politician, yes that’s what he is, and also an admirer of Hitler, he has said that Bombay is closed to people of different states, mainly talking about Uttar Pradesh (North India) he also went ahead and commented on Amithabh Bachan saying that he should do something about the place where he earns money not where he was born, not just that his party followers have destroyed taxi's and harmed the taxi drivers who were Bihari (or from North India), the taxi drivers now want to go on a strike, and its actually justified, many politicians including Bal Thackeray has said that whatever Raj is doing is wrong, and its a publicity stunt, one of the politicians went ahead and said he should be arrested, and then one of the news channels discovered that he attended the police commissioner's daughter's wedding, and now they are talking about how the commissioner is an acquaintance of Raj Thackeray.

So, what this guy is basically trying to do is insane, is he trying to say that Bombay is a different country now? because the last time I read my Civics text book, Bombay is a city located in the west of India, and according to the Indian laws and according to the constitution, Indian's don't really need a visa or any documents to travel from part of India to another, or is this guy trying to start a riot? or does he just want votes? And some of the people are actually supporting him, yes I agree that Amithabh should give back to Bombay, but he gets free land in his home state, will you give him free land? This guy is literally breaking Bombay, next thing you know, he gets a partition done, and throws out all the migrants from Bombay, Bombay was safe, according to many people, until four days ago, you cannot do this, already there is the Muslim-Hindu tension going on, from as long as I can remember, you don't really want another rivalry between your same 'religion' do you? People cannot be killed when you are trying to prove a point, this is not even politics, its much more filthy then that, and trust me nothing is more filthy then politics, this guy is trying to provoke the Maharashtrian community to support him so that he can have his revenge or whatever is that he wants, This is a very sensitive topic, and I don't really want people who support Raj coming to my house and trying to kill me or damage my computer, and I am not trying to say they will do that.

Bombay should be a union territory, trust me, things would be much easier.

The wheelchair accessible Bombay

Yes, so Bombay’s bus stops have that wheelchair accessible board up on them, and it says that ‘We should help people in wheelchairs to go on the bus first’ does that happen? Is that even a valid question? Of course it doesn’t, I was standing near the bus stop with a hot latte in my hand, and I saw this lady in a wheelchair, who wasn’t even helped by the conductor to get on the bus, until she literally screamed for help, I then followed her in the bus, the people weren’t even bothered to help her in anyway, she dropped her purse and the coins fell out, the conductor took how much of the money that was needed and gave her a ticket to wherever she wanted to go, what about the rest of the money? Nothing, well she tried to pick it up, and when I tried to help her, a person actually stamped my hand, saying that he wanted to get down on the next stop.

The conductor also told me to move because I was not letting people get down, when all I was trying to do was help that lady collect her money back, after I gave some of the change which I could find to her, she told me in quite fluent English that I shouldn’t bother myself as she has to deal with this every single day.

I am not dissing people here, or telling people what to do, but this is what ‘Wheelchair accessible’ means in Bombay, great stuff lets do this, put up some signs which tells an alien that we do something for the state and get votes, its much cheaper then making poor people drink ‘Desi Daru’ and getting them laid with bar girls who are probably infected with HIV. I mean lets face it, if an NRI comes and looks at the wheelchair sign he is gonna be impressed, or if an Indian who doesn’t travel in the bus because he is to rich for that, would be impressed too, and go tell his dad about it, its human nature to believe what they’re shown, but is it working? Are people who can’t walk getting any help from anyone to get into a freakin’ bus?

Anyway yes wheelchair accessible buses and bus stops and the Mumbaikars who help people who can’t walk to get into a bus, totally happening, let us say good things about the current state government now!

So, yes most of the people already know that I didn't actually go for the Maiden concert, reasons which are not yet known to me, well kinda, i mean one of the main reasons was that I was broke, and I can't really ask my dad for money to see some middle aged guys shouting in a place where most people are likely to be high, though unlike many people I didn't go all emo, and started using the sad emote whenever somebody talked about Maiden.

I was in the area where they were playing though, so I decided to check the concert out, from the outside obviously, it wasn't all that bad, i reached there at around 8:30 PM, and they were playing some nice songs, with the usual energy, I could see that as there was a screen which was for people standing out? I think, anyway, then came the British Flag, which got me thinking that Shiv Sena might burn Edwards posters and shit, but that didn't happen, it will though, soon, people have the habit of digging out old stories, here anyway.

There were even old people sitting on the foothpath laughing their ass of, when the screen showed Edward, and the children who usually bike around that area, was watching in awe, as Dickinson was screaming xD.

There weren't 30,000 people though, but I didn't expect even a thousand people to show up, the crowd was huge, not more then expected though, the tickets were available even at the venue, and people were going in even at 8PM, thats around the time when Maiden started playing, one of my friends even saw Farhan Akhtar walk in, the person who directed two of my favorite bollywood movies.

Yahoo for Sale

Everyone knows, Yahoo!, the company which was a competitor to both Microsoft's MSN and Warner Bros, AOL. I say, was because now Yahoo has been loosing the way of things just like the Indian Cricket team, Yahoo, which was a good company a year or so, ago is now suffering losses, after buying great companies like Flickr and and delicious, if you are loosing money, then something is definitely wrong, after downsizing and now even facing prices of it falling down to a 52 week low, on NASDAQ, Yahoo! (YHOO) might just get bought by Microsoft (MSFT).

Microsoft has made an offer to buy Yahoo! shares for $31/sh which is just around $44.6 billion.
If this transaction takes place, MSN won't have a competitor in the IM business, and everything will end up being Microsoft, which is not what well, I want.
It's not like that I like Yahoo, its like I don't want everything to be 'Blue' again, like back in the IBM days, it would be pathetic if this deal goes through, which will happen.
So, we might end up calling Yahoo, Yahoo Live!, or something so irrelevant that nobody would use it ever again, (Not that many people are right now, anyway)

Back in the days Yahoo! Mail used to pwn Hotmail, but I never really liked yahoo mail, heck I don't even have a yahoo id. Though it doesn't matter now, because by the second half of this year, we might see yahoo contacts on our Windows Live Messenger, we can now, but you know :\, Heck Google should buy Microsoft, and make it Microsoft Beta.

So yes, to sum it up, Yahoo loosing money, Microsoft to the rescue, as always >.<

My Democratic Country

Yes, republic day was a very happy day for some people, as it was a public holiday, a long weekend for some people. People going to malls and enjoying their popcorn while watching a Hindi movie.

Some of the people also celebrated by tearing/ripping apart the national flag and some wore a saari with the tri-colors on it, some also burnt the national flag, Oh wait, no they can't its illegal, as it hurts the sentiments of the people who really 'do' something for the country, Wow, wait what? every single person does something for the country, people pay income tax, they pay service tax and now they value added taxes, and you say the people who actually do something for the country are the soldiers? I am not trying to hurt anybody's sentiments but without the people paying the taxes you wouldn't be able to get your arms and ammunition or even say that India is the next big super power. India is supposed to be a democratic country, I want to show my love by wearing India on my body, but then our democratic constitutional says that if we do that, we will go to jail, for? wearing a tri-colored teeshirt? Compare yourself to a developed nation, say America? Haven't you seen Americans wearing the American Flag teeshirt? Heck even I had the USA flag on my teeshirt. Don't you see them with the flag on their pants, and even shoes, does that mean they hate America? Maybe, you cannot answer that, heck you can't force people to like something.

Look at where India is going today, its already gone to the dogs, now its getting worse by the day, though I don't deny that we sure as hell are still shining and stealing kidneys from poor people, but heck thats what democracy means doesn't it, democracy also means to order film stars to stop smoking on screen or maybe order realtor's and developers to sell 50% of their flats to Maharashtrian's

My Censorship Rant

The Indian government wants to censor video games now, the one thing I still don’t get about this whole story is, why is India trying to copy developed countries?
Another example would be of child labor, which is a controversial topic, but if you do ban child labor, you do understand that those children will have to earn money in
Another way altogether, by selling morphine for example or by murdering people, yes the government will surely take steps towards this, the same way it took steps for the 7/11 blasts or the 26/7 rains.
So coming back to the topic, the government wants to censor games, because it thinks that children get abusive and violent when they play video games, okay I agree, but aren’t there better things out there which harm people more then this shit? Why don’t you do anything about the minors who smoke or drink? Is it because your earnings come from that? , if the money was to come from the gaming market in India, the government would go ahead and mark games as ‘Injurious to health’ and then still sell it to anyone who wants to buy it. So the censorship of games hasn’t been finalized yet, but censoring everything won’t help, remember the TV censorship, that was stupid, and its still stupid, don’t you compare us to a developed nation the first minute and then the next minute you say and I quote ‘the viewers aren’t mature enough’.
Okay what if the games get censored? Nothing happens, I buy pirated games (Obviously) or download them from the internet, I never bought original video games, I can buy a pirated version of a game for 50 bucks (PS II) or 150 (X-360) while for the original I have to shell out at least 500+, so if you do buy pirated games, the person selling it to you won’t really care about how old are you, as far as buying the original games goes, you could send your older friend/cousin to get the game, and sit home on your couch and play it, the government can’t really come and check now can they?
Censorship won’t ever work, just like DRM.

Whenever anyone talks about Macworld, the 1984 commercial plays itself in my head.
Yes, Macworld is over, with alot of cool stuff out, but nothing unexpected, I was disappointed, but not many people were, strangely.

My predictions for Macworld were as follows :

Let’s face it, India is backward when it comes to anti-piracy laws and shit, and yes they do have a ‘cyber crime police’ setup, but dude, finding a person who scrapped a girl saying ‘you have a cock’ is not gonna happen. Anyway this is a topic for a whole new discussion
So yeah, why do I pirate? Because the original stuff costs a bit too much and they are not even available, I mean dude, the Indian channels are a season behind on most of the shows. So yes, I go ahead and use Bittorrent to download ‘stuff’, because even though I want the original ‘stuff’ I cannot find it, for example I was looking for the 3 seasons of House M.D, so I called up around 10 people/corporations who sell original DVD’s, and they go “What is House, do you want LOST?”
NO, I want HOUSE, so I go and pirate it, simple? Very, even though I am going “Dude, take my money!” they force me to pirate, I don’t wannabe a season behind, I wanna watch what the ‘world’ is watching, and I wanna watch it everywhere and anywhere I want, I wanna watch it on my stand-alone Divx player, or my iPod, or my PC/Mac.
Do they let me? Why are the production houses so possessive about their material?
Get this drilled in your head people, laws can be broken, I will watch it wherever I want, even though you won’t let me. So we break the rules, well I do.
Anyway yes, make the shows available online the same day you air it, put it up on Bittorrent*, charge a small amount of money, put it on iTunes, but it on the same damn’ day,. Oh wait, don’t put it on iTunes, because iTunes doesn’t let me buy stuff, why? BECAUSE I STAY IN INDIA! Oh and don’t put it on Bittorrent* too, because that’s not available in India too. I hate this, I am not saying give your shows for free, but dude, let everyone watch it, put commercials it, make them un-skipable with all the DRM you people have, but make them available.

The WGA strikes!

So, finally the WGA did something which will affect the normal common man, who well, watches the Golden Globe awards.
So, the 'stars' decided they are gonna support the writers by not showing up at the awards, so now NBC went ahead and decided that there would be no more Golden Globes. Mainly because well the writers said they aren't gonna work on the award ceremony and plus as i earlier mentioned the place would've been virtually empty, as most of the stars were not coming.
The scrapped program would be the first awards show to fall victim to the Writers Guild of America strike, and February's Academy Awards also could be in jeopardy.
Thats just HUGE, this is the first time its happened, the WGA has been on strike since November 07', though I blogged about it in December.
NBC should go ahead and accept the terms and conditions which are put forth by the writers, because this is affecting them more then its affecting the writers, and fuck there is nothing on TV!

Anyh00 in other TV news, Scrubs will be back by January 24th at a new time. Heroes ended its season due to the WGA strike, and do did Southpark.

This is a interesting month for any person who is the least bit interested in technology.
CES has started, and most of you don't even know what is it.

"The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a trade show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association. At the show, many previews of products are introduced, or new products are announced."
Why should you care? Well because the products you might end up buying are showcased here. It's regarded as one of the biggest and one of the most important trade-shows all around the world, there is no consumer entry available though, which is sad.

Heck,even the Commodore 64 was announced at CES back in 1982, Commodore be the best selling computer of all times.
So where can you find news about whats actaully going on? Well just go ahead and Google 'CES'

Anyway the only problem? Apple doesn't announce anything at CES, it goes ahead and gets it own show running called 'Mac World' which well, is weird, I mean dude, you have all your consumers and the whole industry at CES, why the hell do you wanna have a MacWorld, yes yes, I know 'Think Different' but this is a bit too much, seriously.

So if you are a MacGeek, you are NOT going to CES, you are going to MacWorld :D

Netscape dies

The browser I grew up using, the browser which was the 'in' thing back then, the browser which always told me to update it so that I could use Hotmail in a better way, but downloading 10MB back in the days meant like downloading 100MB today -_-, I remember using 100 hours/ per year pack back in the days, and how much time it took to open yahoo, or aol. XD
But this same browser which pwned IE is no more.

So, I don't normally report on the happening of the world, or the sports, or to be precise about cricket, but well here is something which is very annoying, and i am definite you will get bored while you are reading it :D
So, Andrew Symonds of the Australian cricket team, has reported saying that Harbhajan Singh, made some racial comments about him during the third day of the current test cricket which is going on, so basically what the 'mate' is trying to say that a brown man was being racist to a 'Australian' and they just took it? I mean hell, it's not like any sport is being played in a very clean way these days, don't you think Australian's ever made racial comments about the Indians? Did the Indians got so pissed that they went ahead and complained to the cricket boards? And just around the first match, one of the Australian newspaper misquoted one of the Indian team managers, I mean dude, you guys are a winning team, act like one, don't get all pissed like a bunch of girls who cry when someone says that they look a bit plump in that outfit. Winning has gotten into these guys heads, they need to get the fuck over it when a brown person says "Hey, you look brown today." or something.
Heck at some point of the time everyone is racist, anyway to sum up the rant, Go INDIA!, no seriously cricket is the best sport isn't it? bah.

My Movie Marathon

It started at 2 in the morning and ended at 6:15 or something, I was actaully too lazy to make something or cook something for myself, so I ended up eating cold pizza, brr!?
I like pizza.
Anyway yes, so I didn't decide to call anyone and sat alone watching the movies, hoping to complete all of them but I failed, I had rented 5 DVD's, and was able to complete only 3, including "I think I love My Wife" "Starter for 10" and "Balls Of Fury".

So yes I think I love My wife was good, uhm around 8/10, great direction and acting by Cris Rock,

Starter for 10, the movie is based in the 1980's were The Cure were the best band around, 9/10, I like movies based in 1980's xD

Balls of Fury, a lame ass wannabe comedy movie, which reminded me of Reno 911, because well, same creators. I hated it, expect for some parts, but i don't think that movie is even worth pirating, a sad 1/10

My Best Ride

So, my dad wanted to save money today, and thus he took me to Juhu, in the bus, IN THE BUS! the red color bus, which is driven by people who honk AT the signal ( WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?), so Juhu from Bandra is like 35 minutes far, and this bus took 40 minutes to reach, why? BECAUSE IT STOPPED AT EVERY FREAKIN' BUS STOP, even though the driver could very well see ( or so i hope.) that there was no-one, absolutely no-one. The conductor rings that stupid bell and the driver stops, he rings it again he starts the bus.
The bus ride wasn't as scary as the bus ride shown in The Prisoner of Azadkaban, but still, and yeah it wasn't my first time in the bus, but I just wanted to rant on a topic about which no-one cares xD
And there were only, like 90 commuters in the bus? thats it =)
I had to stand the whole way xD, it's not like I don't like standing or anything, but come on dude, I am PAYING 7 BUCKS!

My Spiritual Journey

So, I went for Satsang today, which was by the RSSB, it wasn't something religious but something very spiritual, the first 45 minutes were 'wasted' by reading quotes and quotations from the Guru Grath Sahib, (which happens to be the holy book for the Sikh's), The Gita (holy book of Hindu's), the Bible ( holy book of Christians) and the Quran (holy book of Muslims), and then the Guru who is known as 'Babaji' gave a short 20 minute preach on the difference between desires and needs, the Guru can sway most of the people, there were more then 10lakh people and more then 2 lakh cars. but still the 'Shavadars' managed it beautifully, there is free accommodation for people who come from different cities/villages, there is also free food, and other eatable items at low costs, however thats not the point.
The point is that somehow, I felt that this particular topic was selected for the younger people, one of the punch lines the Guru used was "we go and buy Nike shoes, even though we can walk with regular shoes, why?" "Are designer clothes are need or are desire?", "Are those fancy cars are needs?", one of the best satsang's I have herd, ever. He also ended by saying "Spirituality is not a religion, it's a way of life, those people who think it's a way of religion are wrong"

Great stuff, check RSSB out, if they ever visit your city or something, I recommend it. =)

My mom got me this, I mean it's not like I love it, but dude, I wanted the iPod Touch xD, It's not quite worth 11 grand, but it's a new technology which I wanted to use, so yeah, anyway it can be hacked in to put e-books and stuff from other sources, It can also bookmark your stuff, it's 'rad', I mean you are on a flight, and you have the 'Fire in the valley' novel, but you want to read 'Fight Club'. what do you do?
You open up your kindle and start reading.
The e-ink thing is the best feature on it, it actaully looks like you are reading an actual book, and not staring at a computer screen, though you can't read color content on it yet, it's still worth a look ^_^
Though the DRM sucks on it. :P

No I am not getting an erection, I am just trying to act like Nana, in the movie called "Welcome", I thought the movie might be worth a watch, but dude, i was hugely disappointed, i wasted 280 bucks, seriously, I could've had just torn the money, at least then I didn't have to bear the torture, as I am typing this i am also listening to the title track from the movie, it's not like I got hooked to it or anything, I just wanna feel the pain of watching a shitty movie, and thus spoiling my Christmas, if you like Slapstick/Horrible/Shitty Humor, then my fraand this movie is for you, but for people who like I don't know? Normal humor, you will actually be yawning in this 3 hour long movie, the only thing that was good was the Large Coke that i had in the interval, and also not to forget the tasty donuts xD
The songs in the movie suck, the movie sucks, my Christmas sucked.
Though I found the people next to me amusing, including my cousin and my 'friends' they were actually laughing. :|
Bah, the direction was lame, and after watching TZP, it was quite obvious I would hate the movie, though the genre's of the movie are super different.

My Sunday Movie

So, I decided to check a Hindi movie, yesterday, and the movie turned out to be one of the best Hindi movies, I have ever seen, I am talking about the hugely anticipated and the overly hyped Taare Zameen Par.(Stars on the ground?), Anyway, the main actor, in the movie is the kid, his acting was better then Aamir Khan, though Aamir didn't have a solid role in it, the kid is definitely winning a film fare for his work in the movie, he's one of the best child artists, I have seen. The direction of the movie reminded me of the movie called Garden State, though I never said there weren't flaws in the movie, they were just covered by the actors who all did a good job, and gave justice to their respective characters, the production cost of the movie wasn't high, though the movie is gonna make a huge turn over, and plus soon it might be tax free, it has already got critical acclaim, and the audience also loved the film, it was a happy-sad film, that comes from me, a person who hasn't cried since years.
The movie is based on this child who suffers from Dyslexic, though nobody knows about it, and it is only when Aamir comes along, he finds whats wrong with the child, and helps him out, there are no huge/powerful dialogs in the movie, but most of the people in the theater were crying like shit, due to the storyline, the acting of the kid can be related to any child who is 8-9 years old, hell that's the reason I liked the movie, you can just connect to it. The Mohawk which Aamir has, isn't quite a Mohawk, but wait, why are news channels after him? Fuck dude, it's his fucking hair. :S
Anyway i would rate the movie, 8.5/10, and its definitely worth a watch, two main reasons being the direction and the kid's acting, plus the songs are nice too ^_^.
And, when the movie was over, I think everyone had the feeling of what children are and what they mean and blah blah

Even so, I'm betting that next year's buzzword in India will be the two-syllable revolution that's taken the West by storm: TiVo.

In this classic small-company story, the bright boys who dreamt up TiVo figured out that the market for digital video recorders had remained untapped.

Who needs DVRs aside from uber-geeks who made their own movies on their Macs or genuine, bona-fide film-makers?

But suppose you allowed the recorder to record programmes off TV -- and cashed in on the nature of digital video so that users could not only store and play back their favorite programmes but also delete all ads?

TiVo became a verb: you TiVoed past the ads; during the Superbowl, thousands of users TiVoed back to the key seconds when Janet Jackson infamously showed the world why singers should have stick-on bras; and you could TiVo out the clutter of garbage on TV in order to watch the few programmes you really wanted to see.

Many fantasized wistfully about TiVoing through real life, but that might take some time.

The thing that's made TiVo so scary, and so controversial, in the West is its simplicity. TiVo and its competitors, such as DirecTV, work on the same principle: once a TV feed is recorded as digital video, it can be broken up into several units just the same way as sound files or plain vanilla picture files.

The user gets to screen what he watches, and to decide whether he wants or doesn't want ads. (Guess how many TiVo users choose to watch ads? Now you know why big media screamed its head off over TiVo last year.)

In India, it's easy enough to import a DVR. But there are legal blocks on using TiVo. Current regulators are not sure whether TiVo breaches the rights of advertisers to advertise or channels to run ads. That means you shouldn't legally use TiVo-if you're watching TV on a TV screen.

But this February, Reliance Infocomm worked out the beginnings of an agreement with Microsoft TV.

If all goes smoothly, Reliance Infocomm will introduce streaming TV services over broadband. And Microsoft says its end of the service will support integrated video, video-on-demand services and digital video recording.

Which implies that users who care to learn just a little about the technology could pick up a $100 TiVo clone on their next foreign trip and join the ranks of those who've converted to ad-free TV. By end-2008, the couch potato might actually wield genuine power -- and might do it legally.

So I finally started twittering, and it's not that addictive, mainly because I don't have any followers as of yet, but whatever, I like the concept, and the feature to put up wherever i want, like the extreme top right corner of this blog, or my Facebook account, and you really get to know what have been people upto the whole day. Though not many of my friends Twitter, but then again, they will SOON, because they tend to follow what I do (H), but as long as no Indian is there, it means that it's the place to be, because as soon as Indian's get their ass on Twitter, I AM LEAVING IT FOR GOOD.
Anyway, the WEB 2.0 thing is gonna catch on mainly due to the people wanting more then just checking their mails from the internet, the WEB 2.0 is the next big thing, and even huge companies are betting their future on WEB 2.0 catching on, though it's not totally mainstream now, I mean yes Youtube is an example, but then people don't know what they are using. and what is WEB 2.0
Anyway, twitter is one of the best WEB 2.0 examples out there.

The Broken System

The DRM? stands for Digital Rights Management, and boy if you think the problem is only and only in ths United States, well think again. Even in places like China, we face problems of DRM, now what does DRM do? Well it restricts you to move around your own file for which you have paid, now and example would be the iTunes store, if I buy say, Daft Punk's new album, all I can do with it is play it on my PC and on my iPod, and I cannot play it on another PC, because the freakin' system is broken, I can however burn the tracks onto a CD which I can later play on my other machine, but seriously, why would I waste my time doing that? I mean for the love of iPhone, i have paid for the track(s), and I should be able to play them wherever I want, though some of the Indie labels and other music labels are coming over to the Non-DRM world, it's still weird how they think that the consumers will still buy the music even when I cannot play it on my laptop or my secondary mp3 player. Now the point they make is "DRM PREVENTS THEFT", does it really? No because DRM can be broken, and it is being broken buy people who want to pirate, and according to many experts if you make the music DRM free, the piracy rate will go down. The DRM focus is mostly on music now, and after this issue is resolved people will look at videos and say "WTF these are still DRM'ed"

So in a layman's term it's like if you buy a Ford car and you are allowed to only use Petrol from Shell, if you use petrol from another petrol provider your car would be broken.

DRM locks you down, and people don't get it, not here not anywhere in the world, it's only those handful of people who really know the meaning of DRM, and this thing is gonna come in India soon, though DRM is becoming more and more mainstream after the iTunes store.

So, you sit down and try to watch the TV,and then you notice, Tulsi is still alive, when you remember watching her die, a month ago. So then you switch from Star Plus to Star World, and what do you get? you get an old man kissing his sister-in-law? (The Bald and The Beautiful), so you skip to the next random channel and you see a movie's beginning, you say to yourself "Why not watch this, it might be a good movie", so you get a coke and sit down, and you find the first 20 minutes of the movie quite nice, now you obviously want to see the whole movie, and at the end you get disappointed and show the middle finger to your TV screen and come and type a blog post
The movie I just saw was named "Cursed" i won't go into the story (Oh, wait it didn't have one), it was for people who wet their pants when they hear a "boo"
This movie is a lame horror movie, with even a lame direction. Plus the acting wasn't good, and my God the werewolf's looked animated.
Anyway it's a great flick for people who want to boost about their courage after watching a 'horror' movie to their friends.

So as most of the people know, I like Scrubs, the sitcom, wait i don't like it, I love it. But as the air-dates differ every week, and there is around two weeks of gaps between episodes, I decided to check other sitcoms, and though I has seen The Office before, i really connected to it, sadly their show has also been affected due to the WGA strike, but I saw all the episodes, and seriously it's funny, not comparable to Scrubs though, mainly because Scrubs has emotional moments, but dude, The Office is worth a watch for everyone who likes comedy with drama, NBC has some great shows but due to the WGA strike, nearly everything is off air or gonna be off air, soon.
The Office has some great actors, the casting is beautifully done, and the sets are totally ownage ^_^, now I am hooked to The Office too, I have not been hooked by many Tv shows, expect Scrubs, and Kyle XY (WHERE IS SEASON 3?), so the best part? everyone in my family likes watching The Office, though I fial to really connect to it, I am a big fan of this mockuumentary.
Great stuff, keep it up and support the WGA!

So, most of the people know about the WGA strike, but most of the Indians don't even know what the WGA stands for, so here is a report on the WGA and why this strike is on and how it effects YOU.
So, the WGA stands for the Writers Guild of America West, and it consists of writers who write various sitcoms and TV shows, including The Office, Scrubs and many others
The strike is mostly due to the non-payment to the writers for every DVD the production company sells, and also the writers don't get anything from the online sales
So, well the NBC took all their shows off from iTunes, for some reason which even they don't know.Their shows are not available anywhere, online i.e, so now you have 2 options pirate them,arr! or watch them with stupid commercials, or tiVo them.
The Strike also effects the airdate of the Tv shows.
So to summarize, here is what you should do SUPPORT THE WRITERS, because without them, none of these shows would even be on air in the first place.

Due to which all of my family members were awake, now if this had happened in the States, I could freakin' sue them for mental harassment caused due to their negligence and shit, but sadly I can just sit and watch here.

So I finally got my anywhere plug2surf internet installed, the USB thing looks good, and has this green light which keeps on flashing which is irritating, i got the unlimited scheme @ 144kpbs, but then, it doesn't work, i get a 10k downloading speed, maximum, why? I don't know, oh wait I do, because Tata suck-ass babe!
I won't discontinue my other ISP, i will, after i get reliance, now the only benift of this stupid 3k worth device is that, i can sit online and 'do stuff' even in the bathroom, it works on CDMA technology, that technology is actually kick-ass, but this device still needs improvment speed wise, it's good for professionals and stuff, but not for people like me xD, it's as good as using GPRS on your mobile.
Anyway to sum it up, I hate it :D

Garden State, a movie which truly pwns in every sense of the word, this movie revolves around Zach Braff, a traumatized guy who is on anger management pills since he was a teenager.
Great music, great acting and some great funny moments, this 1994 movie is for everyone who enjoys watching 'quality cinema', the movie even an Oscar for the best Soundtrack, the best part of the movie being anyone can relate to it, in some way.
Its mainly because of the great music that i enjoyed the movie, if you're a fan of Indie/Alternative music, you probably should get this movie and even the tracks featured in it, a total number of 11 tracks including Bonnie Somerville's song Winding Road at the very end of the movie.

This game owns, its based on the classic Xonix game, it's got the 'cool' 3-D effects which were something huge in the 1900's , and it takes up around 4MB of processing power, easy on the resources and decent graphics, free download available nearly everywhere, just go check Google, i am too lazy to point out the link.
It just reminds me of the good ol' days where, there was a 4MB ram :| , and a 4Gb HDD, my first computer costed me a huge 70k, and for some reason Firefox underlines the word 'costed'.

i downloaded Google Maps for my mobile today, and it works, man, it turns my shitty cellphone into a navigation device, well without the GPS, it isn't something great, but its definitely worth checking out. I wish we had route mapping here, but well, we don't even have proper highways bulit, the google maps thing lags when you select the 'satellite imaging' but what the heck, the images aren't live anyway. I actaully used that stupid app to navigate today, and guess what? i didn't get lost, i just got even more confused then I usually am, but its good for those people, who are so dumb that they can't find their home :|

I broke my mac, three weeks ago,not because I was angry, i broke it because I didn't have a net connection :|, it was a iBook, and actually it belonged to my dad, so, I broke it without using any tools, into two pieces, and for that SMALL little mistake, which i don't regret i had to listen to an hour of the lecture, and the lecture just wasn't about the mac, it consisted 'my whole life problems', after which the mac was sent to the Apple Care center, and today the people called up saying to repair the iBook it would cost 40,000, The whole motherboard was destroyed :P, now my dad is gonna go ahead and buy a new macbook/macbookpro and not let me use it

The new Ubuntu is out and is available for download, 688MB a whole fucking operating system, its got some 'cool' stuff , and great improvements, like the new gnome desktop, and the works
but the main problem still is that its Linux, and its not gonna work in the mainstream, people like me are gonna go ahead and download it, but they aren't gonna use it as their primary OS, its like buying a mobile which plays music, but that doesn't mean you chuck your iPod. I know people who have the blank expression when i talk about Linux.
Linux is good, it has the potential but then, its not mainstream, and thats what Ubuntu is trying to do, its trying to go mainstream and make people feel that Linux is really not that hard. But the hardware setup thing in the previous version of Ubuntu was really not that easy for an average user. Also in the previous version, people were facing problems with dividing the HDD for both Windows XP and Ubuntu.
Anyhoo, this is gonna be interesting and I am actaully gonna go ahead and download it.

Scrubs Season Seven?

Its gonna be here soon, and its gonna be some kickass stuff, yes thats what NBC says, but as far as the news goes, Zach will be in the season afterall, and this season will be the final one, also there will be a mere eighteen episodes, which is quite less then the previous six seasons, the seventh season it set to air on October 25, 9:30/8:30c. [TV-14] in America, though it will be a long time before it airs in India, there are always torrents (no he did not, yes he did ^_^), also in the final episode the janitors name WILL be revealed, people are speculating about his name already, though the writer/creator of the show says that its not yet decided, People are hyped up about this, because season six ended in the most weird way, but anyway, i really hope they don't mess this season up =)

I walked into Hypercity today, it's kinda like WalMart, and i went the modems section, i told the sales guy i need a wi-fi router which has atleast three lan connecting ports, so for around six seconds the guy stares at me, as if i had talked in, some alien language, and after those blank moments, the guy says excuse me, and leaves and gets another person, now even that person was dumb, but not as dumb as the other one, so he showed me one of the models from Linksys and after showing me the box, he told me crappy things, which don't even make a difference , like this model is available in two colors, and then he tells me how "this" store had the cheapest rate, "In the whole India", i kept nodding my head, and after his weird talks were over, i asked him some questions like, how much area does it cover and will it work in a duplex flat, and then he said "sir excellent speed, my guarantee" I was like WTF? he blinked, and i left...

I know this guy, who broke up with his girlfriend, and got back together, i have really lost count how many times it has happened, the guy was serious about her, or so he says, and the girl cheated ion him, again i have only the one side of the story, i did talk to his girlfriend, and she did seem to be a flirt, i told him that, and soon after, there was a breakup, now what the guy did was he dated a really emo girl, who was really "hated" in life, like a total emo. They were both dating to "get over their Ex's" now the girl was fourteen, and this guy was sixteen, soon the guy got back with his previous girlfriend and he broke up with the emo girl, so now, this emo girl acts like a complete idiot, and keeps nick like "x.Xmy heart is bleeding, you were perfect for me.X.XThe emo girl and three of us guys had a fight. not actually a fight, i wasn't even there, so whatever, and now on Orkut we made a community saying "Emo Slut Wannabe Hate Club" now, its not because shes emo, no way, she is a wannabe emo, she listens to shakira and crap, do emo's listen to shakira? NO! They listen to Dashboard Confessionals.

Scrubs Season Six

I saw the sixth season of Scrubs, and i couldn't help but think,. what the fuck is wrong with the people there?
I mean for the love of Hooch, the story didn't move ahead, it was a stable season with very less unexpected moments, it wasn't something that great, and thats just sad, people for some reason loved the "my musical" episode but i couldn't figure out why, i mean it was a musical, (yes I am dumb) i haaate musicals, and then they joined together the last two episodes, to make it "kewl"?
Dr.Cox was the only thing that made me bear trough 22 episodes, i mean that guy is a genius.
One of my friends suggested me that i watched House MD, its quite similar to Scrubs, specially the main character Dr.House is like a replica of Dr.Cox, or its the other way around.
I figured that people don't really like scrubs, and yet i am obsessed with it, maybe because i feel connected to the characters in them, but whatever the reason be, I'd like to just say Dr.House cannot EVER beat Dr.Cox, well, yea.
So basically Scrubs Season Six sucked =)

How is this blog different then the others?
Well heres the deal, its not like i have not blogged before, but every time i open up a new blog i promise something great, so this time, i am just gonna go ahead and do the same thing.
This blog is perverted and it will be only rarely that i post something which might just make sense, I am not gonna post any literature here, because i already post that on this blog, nor is it gonna be filled with gadgets or technology stuff, like this one (which, well hasn't been update
